Pionero 2014 – Winery: Bemberg – Winemaker: Daniel Pi – Variety: Blend – Vines: 20 years old – Soil: Sandy and rocky – Altitude: 1300 meters above sea level – Aging: 18 months in oak – Origin: Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina – Estate: Gualtallary, El Tomillo.
Pairing: Red meats, game, stews and aged cheeses.
Tasting Notes: A complex and elegant wine, with a blend of aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherry, blackberry, and plum, combined with notes of dried herbs, pepper, licorice, and a subtle hint of graphite. On the palate, it stands out for its great volume and structure, with fine, firm tannins and a vibrant acidity that lends freshness. The oak is perfectly integrated, respecting the expression of the fruit. The finish is long, elegant, and persistent.
