Care and conservation

Wines: how to store them correctly

To keep wine in perfect condition, it is essential to maintain a cool and stable environment (10–14 °C) and a humidity of 60–75% , always avoiding direct light and vibrations.
Bottles with corks should be stored horizontally to preserve the seal, while screw-top or already opened bottles are best kept vertically .
It is also advisable to keep the bottles away from products containing chlorine, paints or solvents , whose fumes can alter the aromas.

Once opened, re-cover, refrigerate and consume within the following days ; a vacuum stopper helps to prolong the good condition of the wine.

For optimal storage, it is recommended to choose an indoor space that is dark and without sudden temperature changes , avoiding proximity to motors or appliances that generate heat or vibration.

Fresh meats: safe storage at home

To maintain freshness and food safety , fresh meat should be stored in the coldest area of the refrigerator (0–4 °C) and remain at room temperature for the shortest possible time.
It is essential to keep raw meat separate from ready-to-eat foods, using sealed containers to prevent dripping and odors.

If you need to defrost, the safest option is the refrigerator . Using a microwave or a cold water bath (always in a sealed container) is also acceptable, but it must be cooked immediately afterwards.

When you get home, refrigerate or freeze it as soon as possible. Use separate cutting boards and utensils to avoid cross-contamination and opt for food-grade containers that are tightly sealed.

Frozen foods: how to maintain quality

Frozen products retain their texture and flavor better at −18 °C or lower , always maintaining the cold chain from purchase to storage at home.
It is not recommended to refreeze food that has already been thawed , unless it has been cooked beforehand.
If the packaging shows excessive frost or signs of thawing, the cold chain may have been broken.

To defrost safely, use the refrigerator . If you use a microwave or cold water, cook the food immediately .

During purchase or receipt, ensure that frozen goods remain out of the refrigerator for the shortest time possible .
